Hello!
My son Alesha was born in the city of Murmansk on September 13, 1995.
In December 2002 Alesha underwent a surgery whereby a vast spinal cord tumor
was removed and he was diagnosed with T-cell anaplastic large cell lymphoma.
From January till September 2003 he had been administered treatment and got 6 basic
and 2 adjuvant chemotherapy blocks.
In October 2003 our family had to move to the Krasnodarsky Krai.
After the surgery and chemotherapy Alesha had to move around in a wheel chair,
but he is a strong boy and soon he started to walk on crutches and then without
them. It was a difficult struggle which he managed to win.
In July 2006 Alesha was diagnosed with left purulent axillary lymphadenitis and
found himself at the hematology unit of the Children's Regional Clinical Hospital
of Krasnodar. After the biopsy as well as cytological and immunohistochemical tests
we once again heard the terrible diagnosis: T-cell anaplastic large cell lymphoma,
first delayed relapse, clinical stage 4.
During the period from October 2006 till March 2007 6 polychemotherapy blocks had
been administered, and after that Alesha had been staying home for 1.5 years getting
maintenance therapy (until August 2008).
But unfortunately the remission did not last long. In December 2009 he got
sick with the flu after which his cervical lymph nodes got enlarged, so Alesha
was admitted to the hematology unit of the Children's Regional Clinical Hospital
of Krasnodar, and the second relapse was confirmed.
On December 22, 2009 we received an invitation for urgent hospitalization to the
Raisa Gorbacheva Institute of Children's Hematology and Transplantology for a
bone marrow autotransplantation and anti-relapse chemotherapy.
We came to St. Petersburg. Alesha is 14. At present I cannot work as I am in
hospital with him all the time. My husband has been unemployed for 3 months
already. Unfortunately we have no property to sell.
Please help us find and pay for an apartment not far from the clinic and buy
drugs needed for my son's treatment and recovery.
Thank you all very much!
Lyudmila Sergeevna, mother

Alesha is now at home, at the rented apartment, awaiting bone marrow
transplantation. He feels well and his test results are good. The equipment
for cell selection was delivered and Alesha's mom was matched as a donor.
On Wednesday Alesha is scheduled for hospitalization at the clinic for
pre-transplant chemotherapy.
Update as of June 22, 2010.
Transplantation of NK-cells and the recovery were on schedule.
Alesha is in remission and he feels well. The doctors allowed him to
