We are asking for financial support for our daughter, Anya Golubyatnikova, who was born on May 26, 2003, to continue treatment of her oncological disease. Anya got sick in July 2007. She was diagnosed with stage IV neuroblastoma of paravertebral region with growth into her spine. Currently, she is receiving the last chemotherapy course at Petrov Oncology Research Institute.
The Institute's specialists together with the doctors of Raisa Gorbacheva Center of Pediatric Hematology and Transplantology decided to continue Anya's treatment and perform haploidentical transplantation at the Center. One of Anya's parents will be used as a donor.
Unfortunately, the cost of the planned medical procedures is incomparable with the financial means of our family. We will only be able to continue our child's therapy if we receive your support.

Update as of March 8, 2008. Anya urgently needs a column for the cleaning of donor's stem cells (CliniMACS CD34 Complete Kit with Accessories, order #177-01). The column costs 6,350 euros in Russia.

Update as of March 12, 2008. Anya's transplantation is scheduled for April 5-7.

Update as of March 26, 2008. Anya needs three bottles of Fludara (50 mg) for haploidentical transplantation. Each bottle costs 6,000 rubles.

Update as of April 18, 2008. It has been 10 days since Anya's transplantation. Her leukocyte counts are 0.3. She is in a stable condition.

Update as of May 5, 2008. Anya practically recovered after the transplantation. Her leukocyte counts are 2.4. The ultrasound showed that her tumor shrank in half and changed its structure. In the next few days Anya will have a CT scan and a bone marrow puncture.

Update as of May 25, 2008. The puncture results showed that Anya is in bone marrow remission. At this time, a surgical removal of the remainder of the tumor is under discussion. Anya is taking Vfend (50 mg) twice a day. A package of the drug that costs 8,000 rubles lasts Anya a week.

Update as of June 13, 2008. The operation to remove Anya's tumor was scheduled for June 17th. It will take place at Pediatric Academy.

Update as of July 6, 2008. Anya had a very complex surgery that was successful. The tumor was completely removed. Once she recovers, Anya will be hospitalized again at BMT clinic for cell injection from her father, which is designed to strengthen the therapy results.

Update as of August 3, 2008. Next week Anya is planned for a first course of immunotherapy, NK-cell infusion from her father. We are very grateful to Russian Help fund for paying for the columns for selecting these cells. There are plans for several of such courses. Anya feels well.

Update as of September 11, 2008. Anya is still in remission in regards to her main illness, but she was found to have a cyst in her spine. Today she received an infusion of nk-cells from her father.

Update as of October 31, 2008. Anya was hospitalized at Pediatric Academy due to kidney failure (one of her kidneys was previously removed). We are sincerely grateful to Alena and her friends for the financial support for Anya's testing and treatment.

Update as of December 22, 2008. Anya is suspected to have a relapse. We are now awaiting the doctors' final conclusion.

Update as of December 25, 2008. Anya is still on treatment at Pediatric Academy and her renal indicators are gradually improving. After the New Year, a council of oncologists, transplantologists and nephrologists is planned, during which a possibility of kidney transplantation from Anya's father will be discussed.

Update as of April 15, 2009. Anechka feels well. She is undergoing rehabilitation course to strengthen her back muscles. Her leg muscles have fully recovered sensitivity and Anya learned to stand on her knees and get off the couch. She is trying to take her first steps. The kidney transplantation was considered unnecessary, as her renal function is improving. Anya is in remission in regards to her main disease.
Anya's relatives would like to say they are very grateful to Alena and Tatiana who continue helping the little girl and her family.

Update as of October 3, 2009. Anechka had a relapse. She is now undergoing a course of therapy with Topotekan and Cyclophosphan at Oncology Research Institute. Afterwards, she is planned to undergo infusion of donor's lymphocytes and NK-cells.

Update as of November 5, 2009. Anya completed two rounds of chemotherapy and the tumor responded. In the next few days, she will have a control MRI scan, and then Anya will be transferred to R. Gorbacheva Pediatric hematology and Transplantology Institute for second haploidentical transplantation from her father.

Update as of December 24, 2009. Anya is now getting an experimental protocol chemotherapy course, the doctors are consulting a US clinic which is ready to enroll the girl in a research program.

Update as of February 9, 2010. Anya is at home. She is recovering after a round of chemotherapy and will soon undergo the next cycle of experimental therapy at Oncology Research Institute in Pesochny. The consultations with the clinics in the US are ongoing.
