Hello!
My son Aleksei Potapov got sick in November 2008. At first we did not pay much attention, as we thought his lymph nodes were enlarged due to a cold. Alesha continued studying. In January 2009 he came home to our village during school break with a tumor the size of an egg. He was referred to the Republic Oncology Center where he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. At the Republic Center in Syktyvkar, my son had six cycles of chemotherapy from February to June. Then we were referred to R. Gorbacheva Institute of Pediatric Hematology and Transplantology for autologous bone marrow transplant.
I am retired and receive a small pension of 4,000 rubles. I live in the country. I have no savings. As soon as my neighbors learned about Alesha's disease and the need to travel to St. Petersburg, they started raising money for us.
Alesha's friends raised 6,000 rubles and other residents helped as much as they could. We had to take a loan to pay for apartment rent in St. Petersburg. But it was not enough to cover all expenses. We rented an apartment for 12,000 rubles a month, but we can no longer afford it.
Please help us with paying for expensive medications and renting an apartment.

Elena Mikhailovna, Alesha's mom

They are now rising again – leukocytes are 2.9, platelets – 30 and hemoglobin – 90. Alesha is currently feeling rather well. He has appetite and is in a better mood.
