Hello!
I am the mother of Katya Minyukhina and I am asking you for your help and
compassion. On December 15, 2006 my only daughter Katya got sick, and that
was a real disaster for my family because the diagnosis was awful: leukemia.
Two very hard years for Katya and myself followed.
Katya was struggling with the disease with courage, and in April 2009 the
tests showed that she was healthy again. Our hearts were filled with happiness,
joy and gratitude to all doctors and other people who supported us. Katya was
making plans for the future, she wanted to study and do many other things,
she wanted to succeed in many areas.
But unfortunately she was diagnosed with a relapse in September 2009, and
everything started all over again: aggressive chemotherapy, intensive care,
struggle for life.
Many people heard our cry for help, and thanks to their prayers and support
Katya could once again stand up to the disease, get a quota for the treatment
and come to St. Petersburg. Now Katya is staying at the Research Institute of
Hematology and Transfusiology where she has already been administered two
chemotherapy courses, but the doctors say that we must get ready for aggressive
chemotherapy and bone marrow transplantation.
The treatment and the surgery are very expensive but we do not lose hope and
faith! My dear daughter is a very strong girl, she has gone through much trouble
and she is ready to go on fighting. If only we could get help with raising the
money needed for the treatment. I know that there are lots of kind-hearted
and understanding people out there, one only needs to ask for help, and people
will come to rescue. One only needs to knock on their doors, and they will
open their hearts to kindness and charity. Please, please help me SAVE my girl,
give her the gift of LIFE. Thank you all so much for reading this, and stay
healthy! Let your lives be filled with light, joy and love! God bless you!
Marina, Katya's mother
