Hello!
My name is Maria. In 2008 I was hospitalized with suspected osteochondrosis. I was then diagnosed with radiculitis and pyelonephritis. For four months, I was moved from hospital to hospital and tested for all possible diseases, until in January 2009 I underwent a biopsy and was diagnosed with stage IV Hodgkin's lymphoma.
In February I was referred to City hospital No.31 and administered the first chemotherapy cycle. In total, I already completed seven chemotherapy cycles. The eighth, as well as radiation, were canceled due to worsening of my health. My body is seriously weakened.
I now need to come for tests every three months. All the tests are very expensive and I cannot afford to pay for them because I could not work for over a year now.
Please help me financially!

Update as of February 8, 2010. Although the last chemotherapy cycle was in August, Masha does not feel very well. She has low blood counts (leukocytes and platelets) and constantly runs febrile temperature. She recently had CT scan that was paid for by her supporters, and for which she is very grateful. It showed no changes in the lesions. Masha needs to go for PET imaging, the cost of which is being verified.

Update as of February 9, 2010. Yesterday Masha talked to her treating doctor on the phone again. Since last CT scan from December showed dense spot in the upper lobe of her right lung, changes in mediastinum and small lesions, she was recommended to go for PET. Masha's condition since worsened: she developed constant cough, runs temperature all the time, and her blood counts are not normal. Masha's treating doctor is insisting that she goes for PET with whole body CT scan.
For technical reasons, Masha cannot have PET combined with CT, so she will go for two separate tests, PET and whole body CT at Oncology Research Institute.
CT scan is scheduled for February 23 and will cost 10,080 rubles.
PET is scheduled for February 25 and will cost 16,000 rubles.
Masha is asking for help with paying for these tests, because without them her doctors will not be able to determine further treatment, and Masha's condition does not allow her to wait.

Update as of March 3, 2010. Masha had CT and PET scans that showed lesions accumulating contrast in mediastinum. She was referred for radiation therapy at Oncology Research Institute. Next week, Masha will find out when the radiation therapy will be started and how much it will cost. She is very grateful to her supporters for paying for CT/PET scans. Without others' help, she would not be able to afford them.

Update as of March 14, 2010. Masha has been unable to sign up for radiation therapy for some time, as it can be only done on Mondays, but the last two Mondays fell on holidays and the office was closed.
Masha feels rather well, although she still has heightened temperature. She feels stronger and gained some weight, 10 kg (earlier Masha could not start chemotherapy and radiation due to being underweight). Her condition now allows her to start radiation therapy.
