Hello!
I am a mother of three children. My name is Tanya. My youngest son Misha is 2
months old. He was born with Down syndrome. It was a big shock for our family.
Once we got used to this diagnosis and our lives went back to normal, a new
challenge awaited us: the doctors diagnosed Misha with acute myeloblastic
leukemia. It requires urgent and costly treatment.
I stay with Misha at the hospital around the clock. My husband has to take
care of our other two children: 7-year-old Nastia and 5-year-old Andrei.
We need money every day for tests, medications, and simply living expenses.
We always lived very modestly and never asked anyone for help. But now we cannot
cope on our own, as our son's life is dependent on the help of others.
We will be very grateful to everyone who will be able to help us.
Update as of December 24, 2009.
Misha successfully went through two chemotherapy blocks.
Misha's mother is asking for help with acquiring diapers
for the boy: sizes 4 and 5.
Update as of March 26, 2010.
Misha is undergoing therapy according to the protocol, and now he is
receiving another re-induction. He is tolerating chemotherapy well and
is in a good mood. Misha is very happy to see clowns – he smiles and
sings. More than anything, he now likes different color balloons.
Update as of April 30, 2010.
Misha was allowed to go home between the chemotherapy cycles.
He feels well, but still needs Vfend.
Update as of July 14, 2010.
Misha completed main course of treatment and is now on maintenance
therapy with Purinethol. He is monitored as an outpatient.
Misha is in remission in regards to primary illness and was taken
off Vfend. Misha started walking!
