Pasha died on March 18, 2010

Hello!
I am Pavel Toptalo's mother, my name is Marina Georgievna. In September 2008 my son started the second year of Volgograd State University, but he was not able to study. At Volgograd Oncology hospital he was diagnosed with acute myeloblastic leukemia, M-2 variant.
After the first chemotherapy course, Pavel entered remission. Then he had six more courses, but with Pasha's diagnosis, he also need bone marrow transplantation. Pasha's younger sister did not match as a donor.
No matching donors were found at the international registry either. And after Pasha had a relapse in July 2009, he was left with only one option: haploidentical transplantation from me. This procedure requires reagents and supplies for CliniMACS equipment that are not covered by the federal quota. Pasha needs two sets that cost 580,000 rubles.
Our friends and relatives raised money for one set, but not for the other. Pasha is now undergoing the second course of remission consolidation under GLAG-ida protocol, after which he was scheduled for transplantation. We urgently need to raise the lacking amount!
I am asking you to help my son. Thank you in advance for responding.

Update as of October 27, 2009. Pasha is undergoing a course of chemotherapy, and he is feeling well. Transplantation was scheduled for October 29th. For now, only one of the two columns required for transplantation has been paid for.

Update as of November 30, 2009. Pasha recovered after transplantation and was discharged for outpatient monitoring.

Update as of January 12, 2010. Pasha was taken to intensive care unit with acute otitis, fever and signs of intoxication. He is now undergoing therapy with Tazocin, Colistin, Cancidas and Vfend. His blood counts went down, but the test results show that he still has 100% donor's chimerism, which means the donor's bone marrow is working well. He is now feeling better and his temperature is normal.

Update as of January 19, 2010. Pavel is still in intensive care unit. He cannot hear, and the test results show that his otitis was caused by local bacterial infection. He is now receiving Colistin and Intraglobin.

Update as of January 27, 2010. Pavel's condition improved and he was transferred to the room from intensive care unit. He stopped Colistin therapy for now.

Update as of February 9, 2010. Based on examination by otolaryngologist, Pavel retains sounds transmission in one of his ears, but not in the other. This problem will have to be addressed when Pavel recovers after transplantation. He was also prescribed Vfend again due to suspected aspergillosis.
