Tamara died on March 30, 2010

Hello!
My name is Galina Chechurina, I am a great-grandmother of 7-year-old Tamara Zavradashvili. I am bringing up Toma because her father died, and her mother does not help us (we had applied to the Child Support agency and are waiting for the court decision to terminate Toma's mother's parental rights and make Toma's grandmother her legal guardian).
Our family's financial situation is very difficult: it consists of two pensions, mine and Toma's grandmother's who is also bringing up Toma's 10-year old brother.
On November 9, 2009 Tamara got sick and was diagnosed with a cold. On November 24th she was admitted to the hospital with suspected meningitis. The tests showed that Tamara has a brain tumor.
We are now at the 1st pediatric ward of Municipal hospital No.31. In the near future, Tamara will need tomography and series of tests, the results of which will help determine appropriate treatment.
Please help us with paying for the tomography and support our family.

Update as of January 14, 2010. Tamara had an urgent brain surgery at Children's hospital No.5. She is now in coma in a critical condition.

Update as of January 23, 2010. Tamara's condition has not changed. She is still in coma.

Update as of January 26, 2010. Toma underwent surgery, during which part of her tumor was removed. Toma's condition is still critical: she is in coma and on artificial lung ventilation. The doctors are waiting for histology test results to determine the type of the tumor.

Update as of February 5, 2010. Toma's condition has not changed – she is still in a coma.

Update as of February 15, 2010. Toma was transferred from intensive care unit to intensive therapy room and her great-grandmother is now with her at all times. Toma is still in coma, but she breathes by herself. She needs wipes and adult diapers (size small 1).

Update as of February 21, 2010. Tamara's condition is still the same. Her great-grandmother Galina Egorovna is now with her at the hospital around the clock. She massages Toma's arms and legs several times a day and hopes for a miracle. We would like to thank Alena for forwarding wipes, diapers and bed sheets for Tamara!

Update as of March 29, 2010. Tamara is still in a coma. She needs diapers (adult size 1).
